Position Overview:
This role encompasses responsibilities as a member of the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology, specifically within the Bioanalytics and Bioprocesses division. We are in search of candidates who have established a robust international reputation in research focused on bioanalytics integrated with data science.

Research Focus:
The ideal candidate will concentrate on complex data analysis, employing mathematical techniques to innovate processes in analytical and bio-chemistry. This includes the development of intelligent sensors, bio/chemosensors, and the optimization of bioprocesses. A strong foundation in natural sciences, process or automation engineering, mathematics with a technical orientation, or analytical chemistry with an emphasis on chemometrics and artificial intelligence is crucial.

Medical Applications:
The successful applicant is expected to engage in research pertaining to medical applications, particularly in digital point-of-care diagnostics and the identification and validation of biomarkers relevant to geriatric medicine.

Collaboration and Strategic Relationships:
Your research interests should align with the scientific priorities of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Potsdam and the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, fostering extensive collaboration with research entities and industry partners in the Berlin-Brandenburg area. This role will involve establishing strategic connections between the Faculty of Health Sciences, the university, and the Fraunhofer Institute, linking core research areas with applied research and development.

Teaching Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will contribute to new educational programs, particularly the English-language master's program in «Public Health, Exercise, and Nutrition», and will represent the comprehensive scope of bioanalytics and data science within the life sciences.

Qualifications:
A proven track record of securing publicly funded grants and managing industry projects is essential, demonstrating strategic planning, acquisition, and successful execution. Experience in leading interdisciplinary research teams is a vital qualification for this position, along with the ability to establish efficient processes for the effective execution of large-scale research and development initiatives.
