Position Overview:
We are seeking a distinguished academic to take on the role of Professor of Bioanalytics and Data Science, contributing significantly to the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology. This position demands a strong international research profile in bioanalytics integrated with data science.

Research Focus:
The ideal candidate will have expertise in complex data analysis, employing mathematical methodologies to innovate processes within analytical and bio-chemistry. The focus areas include the development of intelligent sensors, bio/chemosensors, and the optimization of bioprocesses.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a robust background in natural sciences, process or automation engineering, and a solid understanding of mathematics and computer science. A specialization in analytical chemistry with an emphasis on chemometrics and artificial intelligence is essential.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will engage in research aimed at medical applications, particularly in digital point-of-care diagnostics and the identification and validation of biomarkers in geriatric medicine. Research topics should align with the strategic scientific focuses of the Faculty of Health Sciences and facilitate collaboration with research partners and businesses.

Collaboration and Teaching:
This role includes forging strategic partnerships between the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Fraunhofer Institute, linking core research with applied development. The candidate will also teach in new programs, particularly in the English-language master's program focused on Public Health, Exercise, and Nutrition.

Research Management:
We expect the candidate to have a proven track record in securing publicly funded grants and managing interdisciplinary research teams. Experience in overseeing large-scale research and development projects is crucial.
