Position Overview:
This role involves significant collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology, specifically within the Bioanalytics and Bioprocesses branch. We are in search of candidates who have demonstrated an international reputation for outstanding research in bioanalytics integrated with data science.

Research Focus:
The ideal candidate will specialize in complex data analysis, employing mathematical techniques to innovate processes in analytical and bio-chemistry. This includes the development of intelligent sensors, bio/chemosensors, and the optimization of bioprocesses. A strong foundation in natural sciences, process or automation engineering, and a solid understanding of mathematics and computer science is essential. Expertise in analytical chemistry, particularly in chemometrics and artificial intelligence, is highly desirable.

Medical Applications:
The successful applicant will conduct research targeting medical applications, with a particular emphasis on digital point-of-care diagnostics and the identification and validation of biomarkers relevant to geriatric medicine.

Collaboration and Networking:
Your research interests should align with the scientific priorities of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Potsdam and the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, fostering extensive collaboration with research entities and businesses in the Berlin-Brandenburg area.

Strategic Relationships:
In this role, you will play a pivotal part in establishing strategic partnerships between the Faculty of Health Sciences, the university, and the Fraunhofer Institute, effectively linking core research themes with applied research, development, and technology transfer.

Teaching Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be involved in teaching within new academic programs, particularly the English-language master’s program in «Public Health, Exercise, and Nutrition», and will represent the comprehensive scope of bioanalytics and data science within the life sciences.

Qualifications:
A robust national and international network, alongside proven teaching capabilities, is expected. A strong history of securing publicly funded grants and managing industry projects is crucial, as is experience in leading interdisciplinary research teams. You should be adept at establishing efficient processes for the successful execution of large-scale research and development initiatives.
