Position Overview:
As a prominent figure at the Universität Potsdam, you will also serve as a
Member of the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology - Bioanalytics and Bioprocesses institute branch IZI-BB.

Research Expertise:
We are looking for candidates with a proven international reputation in the realm of bioanalytics integrated with data science. Your research should emphasize complex data analysis, employing mathematical techniques to innovate processes in analytical and bio-chemistry, as well as the development of intelligent sensors and bio/chemosensors, or the optimization of bioprocesses.

Required Qualifications:
Expertise in natural sciences, process or automation engineering, along with a solid understanding of mathematics and computer science, is essential. Candidates with a background in analytical chemistry focusing on chemometrics and artificial intelligence will be highly regarded.

Research Focus:
The successful applicant is expected to engage in research targeting medical applications, particularly in digital point-of-care diagnostics and the identification and validation of biomarkers relevant to geriatric medicine.

Collaboration and Networking:
Your research interests should align with the scientific priorities of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the Universität Potsdam and the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, fostering extensive collaboration with research partners and industry within the Berlin-Brandenburg area.

Strategic Relationships:
In this role, you will cultivate strategic partnerships between the Faculty of Health Sciences, the university, and the Fraunhofer Institute, linking core research areas with applied research, development, and technology transfer at Fraunhofer.

Leadership Role:
At the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology IZI, you will take on a leadership position within the Bioanalytics and Bioprocesses institute branch located at the Potsdam-Golm site.

Teaching Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will contribute to new academic programs at the faculty, particularly in the English-language master’s program in «Public Health, Exercise, and Nutrition», representing the comprehensive scope of bioanalytics and data science within the life sciences.

Networking and Funding:
A robust national and international network, along with demonstrated teaching proficiency, is expected. You should possess a strong history of securing publicly funded grants and managing industry projects, demonstrating strategic planning, acquisition, and successful execution.

Interdisciplinary Management:
Experience in leading interdisciplinary research teams is a crucial qualification for this role. You should be adept at establishing efficient processes for the effective execution of large-scale research and development initiatives. The ability to translate and utilize research findings into innovative products is a key motivational factor in your professional journey.
