Research Focus:
We are in search of candidates who possess a robust international research portfolio in bioanalytics, particularly emphasizing complex data analysis. The ideal applicant will utilize mathematical methodologies to innovate processes in analytical and bio-chemistry, develop intelligent sensors, bio/chemosensors, and enhance bioprocesses.
Essential Qualifications:
Applicants should have a strong foundation in natural sciences, process or automation engineering, with a solid grasp of mathematics and computer science. Expertise in analytical chemistry, particularly in chemometrics and artificial intelligence, is crucial.
Research Expectations:
The selected individual will engage in research targeting medical applications, especially in digital point-of-care diagnostics and the identification and validation of biomarkers pertinent to geriatric medicine. Research topics should align with the strategic scientific focuses of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Potsdam and the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, fostering collaborations with research entities and businesses in the Berlin-Brandenburg area.
Strategic Collaboration:
In this role, you will cultivate strategic partnerships between the Faculty of Health Sciences, the university, and the Fraunhofer Institute, effectively linking core research themes with applied research, development, and technology transfer at Fraunhofer.
Teaching Responsibilities:
At the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology, you will play a pivotal role in the Bioanalytics and Bioprocesses division at the Potsdam-Golm site. The successful candidate will also be responsible for teaching in innovative programs at the faculty, particularly in the English-language master’s program in Public Health, Exercise, and Nutrition, representing the comprehensive scope of bioanalytics and data science within the life sciences.
Networking and Grants:
A strong national and international network, along with proven teaching capabilities, is expected. The candidate should demonstrate a successful track record in securing publicly funded grants and managing industry projects, encompassing strategic planning, acquisition, and execution.
Leadership in Research:
Experience in leading interdisciplinary research teams is a vital qualification for this position.
