Overview of the Position: As a Clinical Operations Manager at Fresenius Medical Care, you will oversee the delivery of exceptional patient care while ensuring the smooth functioning of clinical operations. In your role as the facility leader, you will collaborate with a dedicated team to create personalized care plans and administer dialysis treatments to patients dealing with end-stage renal disease or chronic kidney disease.

Key Responsibilities:

CLINICAL OPERATIONS:

  • Oversee clinic operations, including budgeting, processes, staffing, and quality assurance.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and development plans for all direct reports.
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as Human Resources, Quality, and Technical Services.
  • Work closely with the Home Therapies Program Manager to supervise the facility's Home Therapies Program.
  • Ensure the accuracy of medical and operational records and adhere to all data collection and auditing protocols.
  • Responsible for the Annual Standing Order Review and Internal Classification of Disease (ICD) coding.
  • Manage clinic financials, ensuring efficient use of supplies and regular review of profits and losses.
  • Ensure compliance with all required network reporting and state or federal surveys.

PATIENT CARE:

  • Coordinate all aspects of patient care with the appropriate staff from admission to discharge.
  • Educate patients on quality measures, transplant options, modality awareness, and access care.
  • Serve as a resource for patients and families to address concerns and inquiries.
  • Ensure timely completion of patient care assessments and care plans.
  • Manage patient scheduling to optimize facility efficiency and develop action plans for missed treatments.
  • Plan and validate patient eligibility for treatment.
  • Report any changes in patient status related to clinical, insurance, or transportation issues.

STAFF MANAGEMENT:

  • Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members, ensuring completion of orientation and mandatory training.
  • Ensure all patient care staff complete necessary training and maintain current licensures/certifications.
  • Provide ongoing support for clinical staff and encourage professional development.
  • Stay informed about company benefits, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct employee evaluations and set annual performance goals.
  • Document disciplinary actions and consult with the clinic Director of Operations and Human Resources as needed.
  • Manage staff scheduling and payroll processes.

PHYSICIAN RELATIONS:

  • Facilitate the application process for physician privileges and ensure compliance with company medical staff bylaws.
  • Foster strong relationships with physicians and maintain effective communication.
  • Participate in the interdisciplinary Governing Body team that governs policies for each region.

EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (RN).
  • Current state licensure is required.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Required: 6+ years of business operations experience in healthcare and clinical experience in chronic or acute dialysis nursing. Must successfully pass the Ishihara Color Blind Test.
  • Preferred: 3+ years of supervisory or project/program management experience or ICU/CCU experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Daily responsibilities include desk work and interaction with patients, facility staff, and physicians.
  • Position may require travel between assigned facilities and attendance at regional or corporate meetings.
  • Work environment typical of a healthcare facility with controlled air temperature and moderate noise levels.
  • Potential exposure to infectious materials.
