Coordination of Clinical, Safety and Quality Systems
- Assist FKC DCM's and clinic staff in understanding their roles and responsibilities in safety and quality.
- Provide guidance and support to FKC Clinics regarding clinical practices.
- Facilitate accreditation processes.
- Aid FKC Clinics with licensing and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate Clinical, Safety and Quality Systems, including the creation and review of policies, protocols, incidents, audits, and document control.
- Conduct quality checks of incidents reported in the electronic incident management system.
- Compile ISR1 and ISR2 incident data as reported into the Electronic Incident management system.
- Support DCMs in Clinical Investigations and Root Cause Analyses (RCAs).
Coordination of Infection Prevention and Control Program
- Assist FKC Clinics in complying with IPC requirements to meet National Standards, including the IPC Champions program.
- Coordinate the hand hygiene auditing program and educate auditors to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
- Conduct Hand Hygiene or other IPC Audits in Clinics or remotely as necessary.
- Support FKC Clinics during pandemics and outbreaks.
- Participate in renovations and new builds to ensure IPC requirements are implemented.
Support for Dialysis Clinic Managers (DCM)
- Collaborate with clinic managers to ensure high standards of clinical care across all clinics.
- Assist new managers in their transition into their roles.
Relationships and Communications
- Liaise closely with the FKC clinical governance team.
- Collaborate with the FKC Leadership team.
- Work closely with Dialysis Clinic Managers and clinic staff.
- Demonstrate courtesy, tact, and patience in interactions with all facility staff and the extended community.
Professional Development
- Enhance knowledge through educational and professional opportunities, reading, and networking.
- Maintain Nursing Registration.
- Complete annual mandatory competencies.
- Retain hand hygiene auditor status.
- Serve as a hand hygiene educator and maintain status.
- Membership in the Renal Society of Australasia (RSA) is desirable.
- Membership in the Australasian College of Infection Prevention and Control is desirable.
Qualifications and Skills
- Registered Nurse with a renal certificate (preferred) and a minimum of 5 years' experience in Renal nursing care.
- Knowledge of National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
- Experience working with and understanding Safety and Quality systems.
- Current Hand Hygiene Auditor status with NHHI.
- Hand Hygiene Educator or working towards and maintaining current status with NHHI.
- Experience in infection prevention and control management.
- Proficient in data evaluation and identifying areas for improvement.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Effective communicator, articulate, and confident.
- Highly motivated, outcome-driven, and collaborative in approach.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
- Willingness to travel within Australia, if required.
