Location: Frankfurt, Germany

The team focuses on business development with wholesale clients and prospects in Germany and Austria, including banks, family offices, insurance companies, and fund managers. abrdn manages approximately 33 billion EUR for clients in these regions, positioning us among the leading non-domestic asset managers. Our offerings encompass the full range of abrdn products, and this role is vital to our expanding Distribution department.

Role Responsibilities

  • Delivering administrative and sales support to facilitate the efforts of sales representatives in pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Coordinating and scheduling meetings.
  • Preparing detailed reports and analyses.
  • Organizing presentations for client meetings.
  • Managing both proactive and reactive client communications.
  • Maintaining and updating client lists for various events.
  • Creating meeting agendas.
  • Assisting in the organization of business development events in collaboration with the Marketing team.
  • Providing client service by distributing standard information such as factsheets.
  • Responding to standard client inquiries via email.
  • Collaborating with various departments, including Legal and Investment Teams.
  • Handling general administrative tasks, including travel arrangements and expense management.
  • Proofreading documents and presentations.
  • Managing Salesforce requests related to RFPs, presentations, and statements.
  • Overseeing budget control and maintenance.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Proficiency in MS Teams or similar video conferencing tools.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong persuasive and influencing skills.
  • Fluency in both English and German.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Results-oriented mindset.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

Additionally, the following supplementary skills are advantageous:

  • Familiarity with CRM systems, particularly Salesforce.
  • Understanding of product and market dynamics.

This position offers the chance to work within a collaborative team environment characterized by low hierarchical structures, providing exposure to a diverse range of asset classes in an international setting.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in the financial services sector.
  • Understanding of financial markets and fund products.
  • Strong organizational capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills in both German and English.
  • High motivation to provide ongoing support to Business Development Managers.
  • Basic experience in organizing client and prospect events.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.

Language Requirements

Fluency in German and English is essential.
