Role: Resident Site Manager in Switzerland (Beznau)
Primary Responsibilities:
The Resident Site Manager is responsible for providing on-site leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality services with an emphasis on client satisfaction. This role involves achieving financial objectives set for the client and nurturing strong customer relationships through a comprehensive understanding of site-specific requirements and purchasing protocols.
Key Duties:
On-Site Client Engagement:
- Act as the representative of Westinghouse at the client site, demonstrating the company's capability to address both planned and urgent client needs.
- Gather and relay critical client information to enhance relationships and gain insights into site-specific requirements.
- Ensure that Westinghouse operations align with the unique site environment, policies, and procedures to meet standards and minimize costs associated with poor quality.
- Champion safety and human performance initiatives.
Identifying Client Requirements:
- Regularly issue plant status updates and identify unmet client needs, communicating these to sales and product teams for potential solutions.
- Collect market intelligence, including long-term operations and maintenance plans, and competitor insights, sharing this information with the relevant Account Manager.
- Evaluate client needs and review bid specifications to align with Westinghouse products and services.
- Coordinate and solicit input from various product lines to support the proposal process, submitting proposals and negotiating contracts as necessary.
- Actively pursue identified business opportunities within the client organization.
Oversight of Execution:
- Provide guidance and oversight to field project managers during project execution.
- Supervise scope development, scheduling, contingency planning, and project planning.
- Oversee Westinghouse personnel on-site, providing feedback on performance.
- Collaborate with clients to address barriers to project completion, including logistical and physical challenges.
- Escalate unresolved issues through appropriate channels to achieve mutual resolutions.
- Coordinate the creation of long-term strategic maintenance and performance enhancement programs.
- Support the Account Executive in matters related to client projects and operational services.
- Develop status reports and lead presentations for the Account Team and Executive Board.
- Manage and resolve client satisfaction issues, both technical and commercial.
- Review performance metrics and provide feedback to team members.
- Lead the identification of lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
Building Client Relationships:
- Establish consultative relationships at all levels within the client organization, including operations, maintenance, and engineering decision-makers.
- Utilize customer relationship management tools to capture intelligence and document actions supporting target objectives.
- Leverage extensive knowledge of Westinghouse products and services to become a trusted advisor to clients.
- Participate in client meetings to understand both immediate and long-term business needs.
- Lead the resolution of scope changes, delays, and contract modifications related to site activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- A minimum of 10 years of engineering or field experience, including prior field service and utility experience.
- Broad technical knowledge of plant operations and field service engineering practices.
- Experience in complex contract management and client negotiations.
