Sales Director / Branch Manager

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Director to lead our operations in Japan. This role is crucial for driving market growth and enhancing our presence in the region.

Company Background:
Our client is a prestigious German manufacturer specializing in clamping solutions for the machine tools sector. With a rich heritage spanning three generations, the company boasts a robust international footprint, operating numerous subsidiaries across Europe, North America, and Asia.

Key Responsibilities:
The primary objective of this role is to strategically enhance market share in Japan, ensuring a comprehensive approach to market penetration.

  • Sales Strategy and Market Development:
    Implement innovative sales strategies to foster growth and engage customers effectively.
  • Technical Consultation:
    Deliver expert advice to clients, identifying their needs and providing customized solutions.
  • Revenue Growth:
    Focus on acquiring new clients while nurturing existing relationships to drive business expansion.

Team Leadership:
Manage and develop the local team, aligning their efforts with the company's global objectives.

  • Establish efficient operational processes to enhance productivity.
  • Guide the team in sales methodologies and cultivate a positive workplace culture.

Reporting Structure:
Act as the primary liaison between the Japanese subsidiary and the headquarters, ensuring seamless communication and reporting.

Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree or vocational training with a technical emphasis.
  • Experience in selling complex technical products, preferably within the machine tool industry.
  • A solid network and understanding of the industry landscape.
  • Leadership experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Fluency in Japanese and proficiency in either English or German for effective communication.
  • A proactive and results-driven mindset, with strong negotiation skills.
  • Excellent intercultural communication abilities.
