Offshore Operations Supervisor

About the Role:

The Vestas Service Offshore division is tasked with overseeing all operational and maintenance activities related to offshore wind farms in Northern and Central Europe. With over 4 GW currently under service agreements, we are actively expanding our portfolio and workforce.

You will play a crucial role in managing the latest and largest generation of Vestas offshore wind turbines, specifically the V-236. You will be part of a dedicated Service Operation Vessel (SOV) team for the He Dreiht wind farm, which features 64 turbines with a total capacity of 960 MW, located in the German North Sea.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all offshore operational activities
  • Manage and develop team members
  • Plan and monitor production performance
  • Develop and implement servicing and maintenance schedules
  • Uphold conduct, discipline, and culture aboard the SOV
  • Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports
  • Facilitate technical discussions, team meetings, and strategic initiatives
  • Manage crew interfaces on the SOV
  • Develop contingency plans for vessel operations
  • Control wind farm downtime and manage associated risks
  • Promote a culture of safety and compliance
  • Conduct turbine inspections, safety audits, and walkthroughs
  • Focus on continuous improvement to enhance service efficiency
  • Participate in daily briefings and safety talks
  • Coordinate upgrade campaigns effectively
  • Act as the escalation point for offshore or vessel-related issues
  • Supervise subcontractor activities on the vessel
Your Qualifications:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
  • Proficient in English and German, both written and spoken
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with electrical systems, particularly in wind or offshore environments, including high voltage systems
  • At least 2 years in a similar leadership role
  • Valid driver's license
  • Proficient in IT applications (preferably SAP and MS Office)
  • Strong decision-making capabilities
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards

  • Effective leader who fosters team development
  • Able to simplify tasks and ensure timely delivery
  • Comfortable working in offshore settings and at heights
