SCADA Technical Support Team Leader

The Plant Technical Support NCE operates as a vital segment of Technical Support NCE, delivering essential technical expertise to the Service sector across northern and central Europe. This position serves as a crucial link between Engineering and local business units.
Key responsibilities of the department include: Offering direct assistance to service technicians in troubleshooting and repair operations, conducting remote diagnostics for Power Plant Controllers and SCADA systems, performing remote software updates, creating comprehensive work instructions, addressing technical inquiries from both internal and external clients, and participating in client meetings.
The goal is to provide exceptional technical support to Service organizations in the NCE regions, both onshore and offshore, to minimize wind farm downtime and optimize performance.
As a member of the Plant Technical Support NCE, you will join a highly skilled and dedicated team, taking charge of implementing Vestas' strategy while supporting Service organizations and local business units with your technical knowledge, ensuring customer satisfaction and safety.
Responsibilities
In this leadership role, you will oversee a group within the plant technical support team, focusing on server and data-related tasks. Your team will be responsible for delivering technical support and planning operations for wind farms. As a Team Leader, you will be tasked with developing your team to adapt to the evolving demands of the business. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of products and services that meet customer expectations.
- Guide and supervise team members with an emphasis on process enhancement.
- Serve as a role model to ensure the team meets key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Act as the deputy for the Manager of Plant Technical Support NCE when required.
- Engage in the development of the technical support strategy and ensure its effective implementation.
- Optimize processes within the team, with a strong focus on achieving a high 'fix it first time' rate.
- Monitor turbine site performance, identify necessary corrective actions, and implement solutions.
- Provide prompt responses and support to Service organizations.
- Manage and distribute requests via ticketing systems, ERP platforms, and email.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in the wind industry, with some supervisory experience.
- Proven experience in team leadership, skill development, and daily task support.
- Background in change management and process improvement.
- Technical expertise in SCADA solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with SAP or Salesforce is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written English, with German proficiency required.
