About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Procurement Manager to join our global team at FRESENIUS_KABI. As a key member of our organization, you will play a pivotal role in driving our API & Ingredients sourcing strategy forward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Supplier Management: Oversee the full supplier lifecycle for APIs and Ingredients, including selection, qualification, and ongoing performance management.
  • Contract Negotiation & Agreements: Lead international negotiations and development agreements to secure favorable terms for FRESENIUS_KABI.
  • Cross-functional Leadership: Act as the central point of contact between internal development teams and external suppliers, driving resolution on API/Ingredient issues through all stages of product development.
  • Supplier Relationship Building: Manage key strategic suppliers, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with business needs.
  • Collaboration Across Departments: Work closely with R&D, QA/QC, Supply Chain, Legal, and Finance teams, providing expertise on APIs and ingredient sourcing.
  • Market Analysis & Supplier Visits: Maintain a pulse on the market by attending key fairs and visiting suppliers to stay informed on trends and emerging opportunities.
  • Forecast Consolidation: Manage and consolidate forecasts across multiple production sites, aligning supply with demand to ensure business continuity.
  • Sourcing-to-Contract Excellence: Drive a thorough RFQ process, ensuring strategic sourcing decisions align with company goals and market conditions.
Requirements
  • A degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Natural Sciences, or Business Administration.
  • 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical or medical nutrition procurement, with a strong focus on APIs and ingredients.
  • Proven success working in a global, matrix-driven organization, ideally within a multicultural team.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory processes for APIs and the drug development lifecycle.
  • Exceptional negotiation capabilities, with the ability to secure win-win outcomes and foster long-term partnerships.
  • A solution-oriented mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English), with the ability to navigate cross-functional and multicultural teams.
  • Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Teams), ensuring efficient reporting and communication.
  • Willingness to travel (approx. 30%).
