Director of Strategic Initiatives in Nutrition

The Director of Strategic Initiatives in Nutrition reports directly to the Executive Vice President of Nutrition and has a dotted line to the Vice President of Strategy & Business Excellence. This role is primarily accountable for formulating and facilitating the implementation of the global strategic framework and initiatives for the Nutrition sector, collaborating closely with all pertinent functions such as Regional Sales, Technical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, and Research & Development.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and spearhead continuous enhancement opportunities in operational processes and governance from innovation through to portfolio management, product launches, and commercial execution at the Business Unit level, in close cooperation with regional teams. Assist in the design and execution of pivotal global strategic projects for the Business Unit, aimed at fostering mid to long-term growth, and present summaries to key stakeholders in finance and management. Collaborate with Sales, Service, and Marketing teams to refine operational processes, analyze, and report on campaign performance utilizing dashboards and reporting tools. Oversee the timely preparation of financial forecasts that summarize the performance of the company’s product portfolio and key market trends for the Nutrition Business Unit. Develop demand planning strategies for the company’s product offerings across local and international markets. Manage and supervise the Business Unit's data assets, acting as the data steward in preparing, summarizing, and managing all commercial analyses. Utilize relevant databases and analytical tools to deliver high-quality analyses consistently. Conduct competitive trend analysis within the Nutrition industry and provide actionable recommendations. Apply strategic and competitive market intelligence in business analyses to inform and influence decisions regarding pipeline prioritization, resource allocation, launch timing, pricing strategies, and complexity reduction. Contribute to the ongoing improvement of financial analysis processes and their interfaces with other organizational units. Collaborate with Marketing and Business Unit Portfolio Teams to make informed recommendations on future pipeline targets and product opportunities by leading market assumptions and financial analyses for new products or business development initiatives. Assist in preparing Business Unit presentations for senior leadership, evaluating the impact of analyses, identifying conclusions, opportunities, and risks, and making appropriate recommendations to Senior Management. Work alongside the Strategy & Business Excellence Lead to support Nutrition transformation initiatives aligned with Vision 2026.

Candidate Profile

A Bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA is advantageous. A minimum of 3-5 years of consulting experience, preferably with one of the Big 4 firms. Familiarity with the nutrition or medical nutrition sector, particularly in commercial roles, is desirable. Comfortable operating within a multinational matrix-driven environment. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage effectively with all levels of the organization, from operational staff to senior management. Strong business acumen and financial insight, coupled with analytical thinking and attention to detail. Capable of working independently while fostering a strong team spirit. Proficient in English (both written and spoken); additional languages are a plus. Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and CRM systems. Willingness to travel, approximately 50%, including international travel.
