North America Strategic Procurement Manager, ElectroMechanical

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
This role is responsible for implementing strategies that align with the objectives of the Global Manufacturing Quality and Supply (GMQS) North America Manufacturing Strategic Procurement organization. Key responsibilities include source development, supply strategy, negotiations, contracts, and supplier management for designated materials and services. Collaboration with North America Plant Procurement and regional GMQS Strategic Procurement teams is essential to ensure procurement strategies are aligned where material and service synergies exist.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leverages extensive experience and professional concepts to resolve critical issues and address broad design matters.
- Collaborates with Plant and Global cross-functional teams to develop, lead, and execute supply strategies, including the qualification of alternative materials or sources, ensuring financial and quality objectives are met.
- Maintains professional relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Prepares Requests for Proposals and manages the proposal process for assigned materials and services.
- Conducts proposal analysis, including price evaluations and Should Cost modeling.
- Establishes cost targets for negotiations and develops negotiation strategies.
- Supports the execution of the North America Procurement strategy.
- Creates templates and forms to standardize processes and enhance efficiencies.
- Leads strategic initiatives across categories.
- Assists GMQS North America manufacturing plants in developing budgeted standard costs for materials and services.
- Analyzes market trends for assigned material and service purchases, communicating opportunities to management and recommending action plans based on findings.
- Monitors and prepares reports on established performance metrics.
- Drafts contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and internal regulations.
- Maintains a contract database for assigned materials and services.
- Ensures compliance with contract terms for manufacturing and global contracts.
- Acts as a liaison to resolve supplier and material-related issues.
- Initiates and leads cost reduction and continuous improvement programs, including exploring alternative materials and sources.
- Adheres to cGMP, ISO, and other regulatory requirements, as well as internal safety procedures.
- Maintains a clean and organized working environment.
- Addresses diverse problems requiring data analysis and demonstrates sound judgment in selecting methods for solutions.
- Operates with minimal supervision on routine tasks and receives general instructions for new assignments.
- May assist lower-level staff with complex tasks requiring advanced understanding.
- Mentors staff and provides guidance to peers and new employees.
- Reviews and complies with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and regulations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS :

EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's Degree required; Advanced Degree preferred.
- Certifications such as CPM (NAPM Certified Purchasing Manager) and CPIM (APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management) are desirable.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Relevant experience is required; or a Master's degree with 6 years' experience; or a PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent directly related work experience.
- Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting business documents and technical procedures. Capable of writing reports and correspondence at a professional level.
- Strong presentation skills, including the ability to organize and present information effectively.
- Proficient in mathematical concepts and accounting principles relevant to procurement.
- Strong financial analysis skills, including cost and price analysis.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
- Knowledge of inventory software, order processing systems, and spreadsheet applications.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and ERP systems related to purchasing and inventory.
- Maintains excellent attendance and may be required to work extended hours to meet project deadlines.
