Since the inception of our Global Portable Security division in 2016, we have harnessed the strengths of our three esteemed bicycle security brands: AXA, Trelock, and Kryptonite. This collaboration has positioned us as a leading partner for bicycle manufacturers, brands (OEM), and retailers in the aftermarket.
The product lineup includes bicycle locks, lighting solutions, intelligent IoT applications, and chain guards. Our development efforts are conducted in-house by dedicated product managers and engineering teams, with a significant portion of our products manufactured in our own facilities.
Position Overview
The EMEA Lights Product Manager is tasked with steering the success of the AM Product Portfolios and Roadmap, specifically targeting EMEA markets for the brands AXA, Trelock, and Kryptonite. This role involves leading cross-functional teams across multiple locations to introduce new products within the bicycle lighting categories, utilizing a structured product development process.
The position requires collaboration with external partners (suppliers, design agencies, etc.) to facilitate the launch of new products tailored for the AM EMEA market. Additionally, the Product Manager will coordinate product-related requests associated with customized business solutions and support sales and marketing initiatives to achieve revenue and profit objectives for the Lights GPS product group.
Key Qualifications
- Proven experience in new product development from concept through to production using a structured methodology.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and techniques.
- Exceptional process management and communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Determination in coordinating project team members to meet timelines and deliverables.
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to impact project execution, processes, and tools positively.
- Willingness to escalate issues to upper management when projects are at risk.
- Solid understanding of consumer products and their development, with experience in AM Portfolio segmentation by bike type, sales channel, and consumer demographics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Affinity for the bicycle/outdoor sports industry is advantageous, ideally with prior experience as a Product Manager in this sector.
- Fluency in German and English.
Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in New Product/Project Management, leading cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with Product Development Processes (e.g., PDP).
Responsibilities
- Updating AM Portfolios/Roadmap for all EMEA markets across the three brands: AXA, Kryptonite, and Trelock, focusing on Lights.
- Conducting analysis of sales, profitability, and product life cycles, alongside market research including competitor analysis to identify market trends.
- Timely proposals for adjustments, replacements, or discontinuations of existing products, collaborating with the Global Portfolio Manager for Lights.
- Engaging closely with Product Managers, Global Portfolio Manager, and Sales Managers/Customers to gather product/project requirements, scope, and success metrics.
- Leading NPD projects, overseeing the PDP process, and managing a cross-functional team to define project strategy, schedule, costs, budget, and resource needs.
- Monitoring project activities, risks, and issues to ensure adherence to schedules and budgets while fulfilling customer requirements. Scheduling and leading status review meetings and formal project reviews with senior management.
- Collaborating with other product/project managers to address interdependencies among simultaneous projects.
- Accountable for AOP growth across all AM Light Portfolios in EMEA.
- Contributing to the enhancement of internal product/project processes alongside other Product Managers.
- Providing technical and commercial support to sales teams for existing lighting products within GPS.
- Assisting Brand Management with marketing initiatives.
- Validating and overseeing AM requests for modifications and variations of existing lighting products.
- Willingness to travel up to 20%.
