In response to the increasing demand for sustainable urban mobility solutions across Europe, the bicycle industry is experiencing significant growth and innovation. Established in 2016, our Global Portable Security division merges the strengths of our esteemed bicycle security brands: AXA, Trelock, and Kryptonite. This collaboration has positioned us as a leading partner for bicycle manufacturers, dealers, and retailers.
Position Overview
The EMEA Lights Product Manager is tasked with driving the success of the AM Product Portfolios and Roadmap, focusing on the EMEA markets for the brands Axa, Trelock, and Kryptonite. This role involves leading cross-functional teams across multiple locations to successfully launch new products within the bicycle lighting categories, utilizing a structured product development process.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and update the AM Portfolios/Roadmap for all three brands (AXA, Kryptonite, and Trelock) in the EMEA markets, focusing on bicycle lighting.
- Conduct analysis of sales, profitability, and product life cycles, perform market research including competitor analysis, and identify market trends.
- Propose timely adjustments, replacements, or discontinuations of existing products, collaborating with the Global Portfolio Manager for Lights.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Global Portfolio Manager, and Sales Managers/Customers to gather product/project requirements and success metrics.
- Lead NPD projects, overseeing the PDP process and managing a cross-functional team across various departments to establish project strategies, schedules, costs, and resource needs.
- Continuously monitor project activities, risks, and issues to ensure timely progress within budget while meeting customer requirements.
- Coordinate with other product/project managers to address interdependencies with concurrent projects.
- Drive annual operating plan growth for all AM Light Portfolios in the EMEA region.
- Support sales staff with technical and commercial information regarding existing lighting products.
- Assist Brand Management with marketing initiatives.
- Validate and oversee requests for modifications and variations of existing lighting products.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in New Product/Project Management, leading cross-functional teams.
- Experience with Product Development Processes (e.g., PDP).
Personal Attributes
- Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills at all organizational levels.
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to impact project execution and processes positively.
- Ability to address issues with upper management when projects are at risk.
- Understanding of consumer products and their development, with experience in AM Portfolio segmentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Affinity for the bicycle/outdoor sports industry is preferred, with experience as a PM in the bike sector.
- Fluency in German and English.
