Internship Opportunity in Global Climate Risk Communication

About the Global Shield against Climate Risks: The Global Shield against Climate Risks (GS) was initiated by the G7 in collaboration with the Vulnerable Twenty Group of finance ministers (V20). This partnership aims to enhance support and action for vulnerable populations and nations facing the escalating challenges posed by climate change. The GS is designed to offer improved financial protection, ensuring prompt and dependable funding in the aftermath of disasters, thereby safeguarding governments, communities, businesses, and households from adverse impacts.
Internship Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and execution of communication strategies and public relations materials, including annual reports, social media content, newsletters, and website management, along with organizing and supporting events.
- Contribute innovative social media concepts to promote the Global Shield initiative.
- Support the management of thematic areas within the secretariat's operations, including onboarding new partners and fostering engagement with existing stakeholders.
- Prepare and oversee internal meetings as well as gatherings with members and partners, aiding in the content preparation and organization of regular strategic group meetings.
- Ideal candidates are pursuing studies in communication, marketing, public relations, international cooperation, political science, economics, or related fields.
- Prior experience in areas such as climate change adaptation, international climate policy, or disaster risk management is advantageous.
- Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of German and French is a plus.
- Experience in developing or emerging countries through internships or study abroad programs is preferred.
- Strong self-management skills and the ability to work independently are essential.
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities are crucial.
Eligibility: Please note that applicants must be currently enrolled as students or have graduated within the last six months to qualify for this internship.
Compensation: A monthly stipend of €2,134.52 (gross) will be provided.
