**About the Global Shield**

The Global Shield against Climate Risks is a collaborative initiative launched by the G7 under Germany's presidency in 2022 in close partnership with the Vulnerable Twenty Group of finance ministers (V20). The V20 and the G7 aim to scale up further action and support to address the urgent needs of vulnerable people and countries facing increasing risks of losses and damages from climate change.

**Our Mission**

The Global Shield aims to provide more and better financial protection, enabling quick and reliable funding before or just after disasters happen, and protect governments, communities, businesses, and households against the impacts of disasters.

**Your Role**

As an intern in the Secretariat of the Global Shield, you will support the development and implementation of our communication and public relations strategy, including the creation of annual reports, social media content, newsletters, and website updates. You will also assist in setting up and supporting events, as well as establishing and maintaining relationships with partners and stakeholders.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Support the development and implementation of our communication and public relations strategy
  • Assist in setting up and supporting events
  • Establish and maintain relationships with partners and stakeholders
  • Support the creation of annual reports, social media content, newsletters, and website updates
  • Assist in the processing of thematic focal points and the onboarding of new partners
  • Prepare and monitor internal meetings and meetings with members and partners

**Requirements**

  • Currently studying in the fields of communication, marketing, public relations, international cooperation/international studies, political science, or economics
  • Initial experience in topics such as adaptation to climate change, international climate policy, disaster risk management, climate, or a related field is an advantage
  • Fluent in English; good knowledge of German and French is an advantage
  • Initial experience in developing or emerging countries is an advantage
  • Good self-organization and ability to work independently
  • High ability to work in a team and communication skills

**Note**

Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student or have graduated not longer than six months ago from the start of their internship.
