About the Global Shield Against Climate Risks: The Global Shield against Climate Risks (GS) is a collaborative initiative launched by the G7, aimed at enhancing support for vulnerable populations and nations facing the escalating challenges posed by climate change. This initiative seeks to improve financial protection mechanisms, ensuring prompt and reliable funding in the aftermath of disasters, thereby safeguarding communities, governments, and businesses.
Internship Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and execution of communication strategies and public relations materials, including annual reports, social media content, newsletters, and website management.
- Contribute innovative social media concepts to effectively communicate the objectives of the Global Shield.
- Support the thematic focus areas of the secretariat, facilitating the onboarding of new partners and maintaining engagement with existing stakeholders.
- Prepare and oversee internal meetings, as well as meetings with members and partners, ensuring content and organization align with the initiative's strategic goals.
- Ideal candidates are pursuing studies in communication, marketing, public relations, international cooperation, political science, economics, or related fields.
- Prior experience in climate adaptation, international climate policy, or disaster risk management is advantageous.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in German and French is a plus.
- Experience in developing or emerging countries, through internships or study abroad programs, is preferred.
- Demonstrated self-organization and independent working capabilities.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential.
Eligibility: Applicants must be currently enrolled in a degree program or have graduated within the last six months at the time of the internship.
Compensation: A monthly stipend of €2,134.52 (gross) will be provided.
