Logistics Planning and Analysis Manager

As a key member of the Scheduling team, you will focus on enhancing the methodologies and solutions utilized for crafting truck schedules that meet our customers' needs daily. This team operates at the core of a broader process that begins with network design and volume forecasting, extending all the way to securing trucks at designated locations and times.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of intricate data to elucidate KPI performance and pinpoint areas for improvement to achieve elevated targets. Develop necessary analytics utilizing tools such as Excel, Dashboards, SQL, etc.
- Establish processes to assess the financial implications of scheduling decisions in alignment with planning strategies, collaborating closely with Finance, Programs, and Operations teams.
- Identify potential enhancements and challenge the status quo in scheduling, planning, and execution processes by leveraging data and research to tackle broader organizational challenges.
- Facilitate essential changes in collaboration with stakeholders, influencing their strategic roadmaps and decision-making processes.
- Work in tandem with Technology teams, Applied Science, and Research teams to assist in the development of tools and technological solutions necessary for driving change, ensuring they fulfill business requirements and support their implementation.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert, providing support to teams and contributing to the establishment of reliable and trustworthy partnerships with internal stakeholders.
- Effectively communicate findings and proposals in a clear and persuasive manner, both verbally and in writing.
Daily Responsibilities
As a Transportation Manager, you will spearhead and oversee the execution of innovative, data-driven transformations within Amazon, leading improvement initiatives and projects. You will employ strategic thinking to outline and execute an effective project plan.
Transportation Planning Managers bear significant responsibilities, tackling complex challenges with creativity, innovation, and leadership. Beyond process enhancements, you may also contribute to advancing other business areas, such as diversity, equity, and inclusion.
About the Team
The Surface Transportation Scheduling team plays a pivotal role in formulating an accurate plan for road transportation across the entire EU and UK Linehaul network. Our mission is to develop scalable solutions that determine where, when, and how many trucks are required to deliver billions of packages to our customers promptly, efficiently, and at the lowest possible cost.
Basic Qualifications
- A degree in a relevant field.
- Experience leading cross-functional programs or projects utilizing project management methodologies.
- Experience in leveraging data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions.
- Experience managing complex projects with a diverse range of stakeholders, including peers and leadership.
- Proficiency in the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and/or SQL in a professional setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced or master's degree.
- Project management certification such as PRINCE2, APM, PMI, or similar.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean.
- Experience in an operational environment or with technical teams.
