Director of Procurement Operations Management

Position Overview:
The Global Director of Procurement Strategy is responsible for leading a dynamic team that collaborates effectively across various business units. This role ensures the successful execution of projects that require procurement expertise, maintaining focus on delivering results within budget and timelines.
The projects typically encompass one of the following key areas:
1. Supplier Transitions: This involves changes in supplier relationships or conditions driven by the necessity to:
relocate production from one site to another outsource internal production to external vendors insource external production back to company facilities transfer production between external suppliers2. New Product Integration: This relates to the introduction of new products and includes:
early engagement in product design for in-house manufacturing, ensuring alignment with material and supply chain requirements involvement in make-or-buy decisions and sourcing finished goods to enhance our product offerings3. Product Enhancements: Often termed as sustaining engineering, this area supports existing products by collaborating with various teams to improve design and functionality, manage part availability, and qualify alternative materials and sources.
Key Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains a standardized approach for global procurement project management, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and trained as necessary. Establishes a centralized repository for procurement project documentation and materials. Leads a flexible team of up to 10 senior procurement project managers, overseeing a diverse range of products and value streams. Works closely with category management to create effective business partnerships with value streams. Designs and implements a structured process for project intake, optimizing resource utilization to meet project goals. Collaborates with the PMO to define project scopes, prioritize initiatives, and monitor progress. Engages with category management and supplier teams to assess supply chain impacts for each initiative and establish sourcing strategies. Coordinates with regional sourcing teams to manage all necessary procurement processes aligned with category strategies. Works with category management and value streams to ensure commercial protections are in place as production volumes change. Ensures the team is well-staffed, skilled, and motivated, managing project plans in alignment with budget cycles. Upholds compliance with company policies and standards across the team.Qualifications:
At least 8 years of experience in managerial roles within procurement or technical project management. Global experience, ideally having worked across multiple continents. Strong understanding of technical and manufacturing processes relevant to the product range. Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to analyze and challenge business plans. Proven leadership skills, capable of inspiring teams and driving performance. Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, comfortable engaging with senior leadership. Strong organizational skills, adept at managing competing priorities. Ability to navigate ambiguity and make informed decisions without complete information. Advanced project management skills, with a focus on risk and issue management. Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, with experience in data analysis tools being advantageous. Fluent in English, with additional languages considered a plus.
