Overview of the Position:

The Head of Technical Procurement and Project Management oversees a worldwide team in an agile framework, ensuring seamless coordination among the CE vertical leaders, category teams, and value streams. This role is pivotal in guaranteeing the timely, budget-conscious, and in-scope execution of new projects that necessitate procurement expertise and assistance.

The project focus generally aligns with one of the following three categories:

1. Transitions: Adjustments in supplier relationships or conditions prompted by the necessity to:

relocate production from one site to another outsource: shift in-house production to an external supplier insource: bring production from an external supplier to one or more internal facilities transfer: move production from one external supplier to another

2. Additions: Usually associated with the introduction of new products, which can be divided into two areas:

Early engagement in the design of new products for in-house manufacturing and supporting the materials and/or supply base for the new product (in close collaboration with category teams) Early involvement in make-or-buy decisions and procuring 'finished third-party goods' to enhance our product portfolio

3. Modifications: Commonly referred to as sustaining engineering. For launched products, this role supports value streams, regulatory compliance, and MSC in enhancing design/functionality through changes and managing part availability by qualifying alternative sources and/or materials.

Key Responsibilities:

Define and maintain the methodology (processes, SOPs, technology platforms) for the consistent execution of Technical Procurement Project Management globally, ensuring all relevant parties are informed and trained as necessary. Establish and manage a centralized database to store and share Technical Procurement Project Management materials and project documentation. Flexibly manage a team of up to 10 senior technical project procurement managers, assigned to various products and value streams. Collaborate with Category Management to create a straightforward business partnering program with value streams and/or MT&I. Design and implement a structured project intake process to optimize resource utilization concerning capacities and capabilities for delivering projects aligned with agreed objectives. Work alongside the PMO function to establish and prioritize project scopes with the business and continuously monitor project progress. Partner with category management and supplier/cost engineering teams to assess the supply base impact for each initiative and agree on sourcing strategies. Collaborate with regional sourcing hubs to manage all necessary RFXs for projects in accordance with the strategy and supplier portfolio defined by Category Management. Engage with category management and value streams to contact third parties at the 'start-up' phase for 'scale-up' to ensure commercial protection as volumes fluctuate. Ensure the team is adequately staffed, skilled, and motivated, managing a forward project plan as part of the budget cycle to align resources with business needs. Ensure team compliance with all company policies and regulations.

Qualifications:

At least 8 years of experience in managerial roles within Procurement or Technical Project Management. Global experience, ideally having lived and worked across multiple continents. Ability to quickly understand the technical and manufacturing intricacies of the FMC product range and similar market offerings. Strong commercial and financial acumen, capable of drafting, interpreting, and challenging business plans/cases, and engaging in business case development and review. Team-oriented leader, skilled in coaching and demonstrating task execution. Agile in personal work methods, leading by example and serving as a role model in both technical expertise and leadership abilities. Articulate in managing upward communication, including information sharing, requests for assistance, and progress updates. Proven leadership experience, capable of creating a compelling vision and inspiring teams to achieve it. Excellent engagement, communication, and presentation skills, comfortable influencing at the executive level. Strong organizational skills, adept at managing competing priorities. Confident in navigating ambiguity, able to make decisions without complete information. Exceptional coaching abilities. Advanced project management skills to define and oversee a cohesive portfolio of activities, including risk and issue management. Strong negotiation and relationship management skills. Proficient in MS Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and MS Project. Solid skills in Excel tools, such as pivot tables. Experience with Business Objects/Tableau is a plus. Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
