Role Overview

The Director of Sales Operations will be instrumental in crafting and executing strategies aimed at enhancing the productivity and effectiveness of sales workflows and systems. This role is essential in supporting the sales team, fostering ongoing enhancements, and directing investments to pinpoint operational deficiencies while boosting salesforce efficiency.

The Director will oversee current business operations through continuous collaboration with supporting departments to align and refine processes.

It is crucial for the Director of Sales Operations to ensure the quality, precision, and uniformity of Sales KPIs reporting and oversight.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Development and Execution

  • Collaborate with sales leadership to devise and execute sales strategies and processes that enhance sales efficiency, identifying areas for process enhancement.
  • Optimize sales workflows to align with and leverage synergies from other departments.
  • Work in tandem with sales leadership to establish optimal performance metrics and management programs necessary for the success of the sales organization.
  • Identify and prioritize critical areas for enhancement within the sales workflow, ensuring a customer-focused approach throughout the Customer Buying Journey.

Sales Technology and Data Analysis:

  • Oversee CRM/D365 CE, sales automation platforms, and other technologies, ensuring seamless integration and adoption of sales systems and tools.
  • Analyze sales data to provide insights on sales KPIs and highlight areas for enhancement.
  • Coordinate with sales leadership and stakeholders to spearhead efficient and precise sales analytics initiatives.
  • Conduct regular audits of existing tools to identify gaps.
  • Supervise the design, selection, and adoption of improved tools.
  • Collaborate closely with the Sales Director, Head of Sales Enablement, and IT to drive the sales technology strategy.

Sales Training and Onboarding:

  • Partner with the Head of Sales Enablement, HR, and other departments to create training programs for sales representatives, ensuring effective onboarding of new hires and ongoing enhancements to sales systems and process knowledge.
  • Work closely with the Head of Sales to develop and implement a training plan focused on cultivating and reinforcing essential sales skills and professional growth.

Leadership Duties

  • Build and lead a high-performing sales operations team.
  • Provide strategic counsel to the sales leader regarding targeted growth, operational efficiency, and capital strategy initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of continuous process enhancement.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business management, finance, or a related field; a Master of Business Administration is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading sales operations within a high-growth environment (or related functions such as revenue operations, commercial operations, or marketing operations).
  • Demonstrated success in analyzing, designing, and improving sales processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to logically assess problems and develop solutions.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities and experience in people management.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and summarize status for senior executives.
  • Creative and strategic thinker with the agility to balance daily analytical tasks with overarching strategic goals.
  • Self-motivated individual who sets ambitious goals and is committed to achieving both personal and professional success; focused on productivity and quality.
  • In-depth understanding of sales performance metrics and KPIs, with experience in sales quota and compensation plan design, sales forecasting, or sales analytics being advantageous.
  • Proficient in productivity tools, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
  • Good knowledge of IT systems and experience in defining business requirements.
  • Proficient in CRM/D365 and other sales automation and reporting tools, such as PowerBI.
