Role Overview:

The Senior People Business Partner for Enabling Functions is a pivotal role as Lilium continues to expand.

You will be accountable for supporting various business units by formulating and executing the People & Culture strategy tailored to each unit. This includes key aspects such as organizational effectiveness, capability enhancement, leadership development, and talent management. You will work closely with business teams and serve as a prominent representative of the People business unit within the leadership team of your assigned unit.

Functionally, you will report to the Head of People Business Partnering and collaborate closely with all people functions in a matrix role, particularly with Workplace, Recruitment, People Services, Compensation & Rewards, Learning & Development, and Culture & Engagement. Your role will ensure that the voice of the customer is acknowledged within the people team, and that demands are integrated into prioritization processes, while also ensuring that People programs, processes, and policies are understood and adhered to by leaders and employees.

No two days will be alike; you must be comfortable in a dynamic work environment and be willing to engage in ad-hoc projects.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to and implement a centralized people service model for your business unit, covering the entire lifecycle of employee-related matters for permanent employees, freelancers, contractors, and interns.
  • Assist people leaders in the business unit to become effective managers, achieving results with a leadership style that prioritizes the human element and enhances the Lilium experience.
  • Advise and support people leaders in developing a people strategy for their business unit, which includes:
    • Assessing current and future talent needs along with associated development and career planning
    • Facilitating organizational development and change management
    • Implementing a total rewards framework
    • Managing talent and performance
    • Fostering culture development and team engagement
  • Provide guidance on people policies, legal matters, company policies, employment law, international mobility, and health & safety, ensuring compliance and education within the unit.
  • Contribute to the overarching people strategy and actively participate in the people business partner group across Lilium, leading people projects both for the wider group and within your assigned business unit.
  • Share accountability with team leaders for team performance, being a proactive member of the leadership team.

Your Qualifications:

  • Strong academic credentials are essential, along with a minimum of 5 years of comprehensive HR experience, including at least 3 years as an HR Business Partner or HR generalist.
  • You should be a self-starter with experience ideally gained in the aviation, automotive, or technical sectors.
  • A hands-on approach with experience operating as a genuine HR Business Partner is required.
  • A digital mindset with experience in utilizing cloud-based HR information systems and collaborating with shared service centers is preferred.
  • Deep expertise in HR and a passion for innovative thinking within the function are essential.
  • Experience in organizational development and change management, as well as a strong interest in talent and performance management, is crucial.
  • A proven track record of earning respect from leadership teams for impact and results is necessary.
  • High resilience with the ability to navigate ambiguity, effectively manage conflicts, and collaborate transparently and constructively across the organization is important.
  • Good knowledge of German labor law and its application in supporting leaders is beneficial.
  • Experience with employee representative bodies and unions is an advantage.
  • Strong project management skills are required.
  • Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in German and/or other languages is advantageous.
