Primary Responsibilities

  • Analyze intricate data sets to elucidate KPI performance and discover avenues for achieving elevated targets. Develop necessary analytics using tools such as Excel, Dashboards, SQL, etc.
  • Establish processes to assess the financial implications of scheduling decisions based on strategic planning, collaborating with Finance, Programs, and Operations teams.
  • Identify potential improvements and challenge the status quo in scheduling, planning, and execution processes by utilizing data and research to tackle broader organizational challenges.
  • Drive essential changes in partnership with stakeholders, influencing their strategic roadmaps and decision-making.
  • Work closely with Technology teams and Applied and Research Science teams to assist in the development of tools and technological solutions that facilitate change, ensuring they align with business requirements and support their implementation.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert, aiding teams and contributing to a reliable and trustworthy partnership with internal stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicate findings and proposals in a clear and persuasive manner, both verbally and in writing.

As a Transport Manager, you will spearhead and oversee the execution of innovative, data-driven transformations within Amazon, leading improvement projects and initiatives.

About the Team
The Surface Transportation Scheduling team is pivotal in crafting an accurate plan for road transportation across the entire EU and UK Linehaul network.

Our mission is to develop scalable solutions that determine where, when, and how many trucks are required to deliver billions of packages to our customers promptly, efficiently, and at the lowest possible cost.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • A degree
  • Relevant experience leading cross-functional programs or projects utilizing project management methodologies
  • Experience using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions
  • Experience managing complex projects with a diverse range of stakeholders, including peers and leadership
  • Proficiency in the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and/or SQL in a professional context
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Advanced or master's degree
  • Project management certification such as PRINCE2, APM, PMI, or similar
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean
  • Experience in an operational environment or with technical teams
