We are seeking a highly skilled Transport Planning Manager to join our Surface Transportation Scheduling team at Amazon TA. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in creating an accurate plan for road transportation in the entire EU and UK Linehaul network.
Key Responsibilities- Analyzing Complex Data: You will analyze complex data to explain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) performance and identify opportunities to achieve higher targets.
- Process Improvement: You will create processes to evaluate the cost of scheduling decisions based on planning strategy, working in partnership with Finance, Programs, and Operations teams.
- Process Optimization: You will identify opportunities and challenge the status quo in how scheduling, planning, and execution processes work end-to-end using data and research to address wider challenges in the organization.
- Change Management: You will drive needed changes alongside stakeholders, influencing their roadmaps and making strategic decisions.
- Technical Collaboration: You will work closely with Tech teams, Applied, and research Science teams to support them in the development of tools and tech solutions required to drive change, ensuring they meet business requirements and support their launch.
- Subject Matter Expertise: You will act as a Subject Matter Expert, supporting teams and contributing to reliable and trustworthy partnerships with internal stakeholders.
- Communication: You will communicate findings and proposals in a clear and compelling way verbally and in writing.
The Surface Transportation Scheduling team plays a key role in creating an accurate plan for road transportation in the entire EU and UK Linehaul network. Our purpose is to create scalable solutions that define where, when, and how many trucks will be needed to deliver billions of packages to our customers punctually, fast, and at the lowest cost possible.
Requirements- A degree
- Relevant experience leading cross-functional programs or projects using project-management methodologies
- Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions
- Relevant experience leading complex projects with a wide range of stakeholders, including peers and leadership
- Experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and/or SQL in a professional environment
- Advanced or master's degree
- Project-management qualification such as PRINCE2, APM, PMI, or similar
- Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean
- Experience working in an operational environment or with technical teams
