Role Overview
As a vital member of the Scheduling team, you will focus on enhancing the methodologies and solutions we employ to formulate truck schedules that meet our customers' needs daily. This team is situated at the core of a larger process that begins with network planning and volume forecasting, extending all the way to securing trucks at designated locations and times.

Key Responsibilities
In this capacity, you will:

  • Identify and implement enhancements to our scheduling processes.
  • Collaborate with various internal stakeholders, including Program Teams, Operations, Supply Chain, and Forecasting, to refine our planning solutions.
  • Utilize analytical skills to work extensively with data and KPIs, conducting research to support decision-making.
  • Communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, translating complex problems into cost-effective and simplified solutions.
  • Drive initiatives that will significantly influence Amazon Transportation Services, shaping the future of our operations.

Daily Responsibilities
As a Transport Planning Manager, you will spearhead the implementation of innovative, data-driven changes within Amazon, leading various improvement projects and initiatives. Your strategic thinking will be essential in developing and executing efficient project plans.

Transport Planning Managers carry substantial responsibilities, tackling intricate challenges with creativity, innovation, and leadership. Beyond process enhancements, you may also contribute to broader business areas, such as diversity, equity, and inclusion.

About the Team
The Surface Transportation Scheduling team plays a crucial role in devising accurate plans for road transportation across the entire EU and UK Linehaul network. Our mission is to create scalable solutions that determine the timing, location, and quantity of trucks required to deliver billions of packages to our customers promptly and cost-effectively.

Basic Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you should possess:

  • A relevant degree.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional programs or projects utilizing project management methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions.
  • Experience managing complex projects with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and/or SQL in a professional context.

Preferred Qualifications
Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:

  • An advanced or master's degree.
  • A project management certification such as PRINCE2, APM, PMI, or similar.
  • An understanding of continuous improvement methodologies like Six Sigma or Lean.
  • Experience in an operational environment or with technical teams.
