Position Overview

Our Role

The Compliance division plays a crucial role in safeguarding the firm against compliance, regulatory, and reputational risks. By implementing a comprehensive compliance risk management framework, we aim to enhance the culture of compliance throughout the organization. As a vital component of the second line of defense, our team evaluates compliance risks, monitors adherence to evolving regulations, and establishes robust controls, policies, and training programs. Our diverse team comprises professionals from various fields, including law, finance, and trading, who bring sound judgment and adaptability to the ever-changing regulatory environment.

Your Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our Regulatory Affairs team within the Compliance function in Frankfurt. This position will assist the Chief Compliance Officer in upholding the Compliance program for Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE (GSBE) and will involve a variety of essential tasks, including but not limited to:
  • Submitting notifications to regulatory authorities
  • Facilitating inquiries from regulators
  • Assisting the team during regulatory examinations
  • Conducting Compliance training sessions
  • Supporting regular and ad hoc reporting to governance committees
  • Coordinating governance documentation for GSBE
  • Assisting with project management and reporting to the Board

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Prior experience in compliance or financial services is essential
  • Fundamental understanding of the European regulatory landscape relevant to Compliance (e.g., ESMA GL, EBA GL, MaComp, MaRisk)
  • Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, demonstrating sound judgment
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Fluency in English and German is required
