Regulatory Compliance Analyst

Our division plays a crucial role in identifying, preventing, and mitigating compliance, regulatory, and reputational risks throughout the organization, thereby enhancing the firm's compliance culture. We achieve this through a comprehensive enterprise-wide compliance risk management program. As an independent control function and part of the second line of defense, Compliance evaluates the firm's compliance, regulatory, and reputational risks; monitors adherence to new or revised laws, rules, and regulations; develops and implements controls, policies, procedures, and training; conducts independent assessments; investigates, surveils, and monitors for compliance risks and violations; and leads the firm's responses to regulatory examinations, audits, and inquiries. Our team comprises individuals from diverse academic and professional backgrounds, including law, accounting, sales, and trading. We seek candidates who demonstrate sound judgment, curiosity, and adaptability to an evolving regulatory environment.
YOUR ROLE
The position we are looking to fill is within the Regulatory Affairs team of the Compliance function based in Frankfurt, providing oversight for Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE (GSBE) and its European branches. This role will assist the Chief Compliance Officer in upholding the Compliance program for GSBE's operations and support core Compliance function tasks as mandated by MaComp and MaRisk. The responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:
- Notifications to regulatory authorities
- Facilitating regulatory inquiries
- Assisting the team during regulatory examinations
- Conducting Compliance training sessions
- Supporting regular and ad hoc reporting to governance forums
- Coordinating governance documentation for GSBE
- Assisting with project management and Board reporting
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- University degree
- Initial professional experience in compliance or financial services is essential.
- Fundamental understanding of the European regulatory landscape pertinent to the Compliance function (e.g., ESMA GL, EBA GL, MaComp, MaRisk)
- Strong interpersonal skills along with effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to exercise sound and balanced judgment.
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Fluency in English and German.
