Our division plays a crucial role in identifying, preventing, and managing compliance, regulatory, and reputational risks across the organization, thereby enhancing the firm's compliance culture. We achieve this through a comprehensive compliance risk management program that operates across the enterprise. As an independent control function, we are part of the second line of defense, assessing compliance and regulatory risks, monitoring adherence to new laws and regulations, and implementing necessary controls, policies, and training. Our team conducts independent testing, investigates compliance breaches, and manages responses to regulatory inquiries and audits. We value diverse backgrounds, including law, finance, and trading, and seek individuals with sound judgment and adaptability to evolving regulatory landscapes.
YOUR ROLE
This position is within the Regulatory Affairs team of the Compliance function, located in Frankfurt, focusing on Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE (GSBE) and its branches across Europe. The role will assist the Chief Compliance Officer in upholding the Compliance program for GSBE and support essential compliance tasks mandated by regulatory frameworks. Key responsibilities include:
- Submitting notifications to regulatory authorities
- Facilitating regulatory inquiries
- Assisting in regulatory examinations
- Conducting Compliance training sessions
- Supporting regular and ad hoc reporting to governance bodies
- Coordinating governance documentation for GSBE
- Assisting in project management and Board reporting
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- University degree
- Initial professional experience in compliance or financial services
- Fundamental understanding of the European regulatory landscape, including ESMA GL, EBA GL, MaComp, and MaRisk
- Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities with sound judgment
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Fluency in English and German
