Transportation Compliance Manager

Become a vital part of our Logistics Compliance division, collaborating with Amazon's global Transportation & Logistics leaders to identify and address risks in a fast-evolving and intricate international landscape.
We seek professionals who can leverage their expertise in operations and internal controls across a variety of risk domains, including compliance, processes, technology, legal matters, finance, and program management.
Your role will involve partnering with diverse legal, finance, and compliance teams to enhance compliance initiatives, which will encompass designing and executing risk evaluations, formulating governance frameworks, and reviewing policies.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with transportation teams and other stakeholders to pinpoint and evaluate regulatory and compliance risks associated with our third-party carriers.
- Assess both new and existing third-party carriers to ensure adherence to compliance, safety, and service standards, while investigating any suspicious activities that may threaten Amazon, our customers, or others.
- Lead cross-functional evaluations of risks and controls to align with corporate strategy and risk tolerance, making informed decisions regarding third-party carrier integrity and compliance standards, even with limited information.
- Assist in linking policies, standard operating procedures, internal controls, monitoring, and reporting to enhance operations, compliance policies, and risk management.
- Work alongside project teams to develop business requirements and controls in implementation strategies.
- Drive initiatives for process enhancement and control implementation.
- Be prepared to travel up to 20% of the time on short notice.
- Please note that proficiency in German is a mandatory requirement, and CVs must be submitted in English.
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Experience in Audit, Risk, and/or Compliance, preferably within the operations, transportation, or logistics sectors.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both German and English.
- Ability to analyze data from various sources to identify potential risk indicators and collaborate with internal stakeholders for root cause analysis. Advanced Excel skills are necessary for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience in risk mitigation, fraud or compliance functions, internal controls, legal matters, HR compliance, labor employment, transportation, or supply chain.
- Experience in project management, case management, or process improvement.
- Possession of CIA, CFE, CISA, CPA, or similar credentials in risk, audit, or compliance.
