We seek professionals who can leverage their expertise in operations and internal controls across a wide array of risk domains, including compliance, processes, technology, legal matters, finance, and program oversight.
In this position, you will guide a team that works closely with Amazon's logistics and transportation sectors to comprehend their specific risk environments.
You will also collaborate with various legal, finance, and compliance departments to enhance compliance initiatives, which will involve designing and executing risk evaluations, establishing governance frameworks, and reviewing policies.
Key Responsibilities- Engage with transportation teams and other business partners to identify and evaluate regulatory and compliance risks associated with our third-party carriers.
- Assess new and existing third-party carriers to ensure adherence to compliance, safety, and service standards, while investigating any suspicious activities or behaviors that may pose risks to Amazon and its stakeholders.
- Facilitate cross-functional evaluations of risks and controls to align with corporate strategy and risk tolerance, making informed decisions regarding third-party carrier integrity and compliance standards.
- Assist in connecting policies, standard operating procedures, internal controls, monitoring, and reporting to enhance operations, compliance policies, and risk management.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop business requirements and controls in implementation strategies.
- Lead initiatives for process enhancement and control implementation.
- Be prepared to travel up to 20% of the time on short notice.
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience in audit, risk management, and/or compliance, preferably within the operations, transportation, or logistics sectors.
- Proficient in both written and verbal communication in German and English.
- Ability to analyze data from diverse sources to identify potential risk indicators and collaborate with internal stakeholders for root cause analysis. Advanced Excel skills are essential for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience in the transportation or supply chain industry, ideally in a similar capacity within a high-volume logistics setting.
- Background in risk mitigation, fraud prevention, compliance functions, internal controls, legal matters, HR compliance, or labor relations.
- Experience in project management, case management, or process improvement.
- Possession of professional certifications such as CIA, CFE, CISA, CPA, or similar credentials in risk, audit, or compliance.
- Able to effectively collaborate with multiple stakeholders across various organizations.
