Risk and Compliance Operations Manager

Join Our Team: Become a vital part of our Logistics Compliance division, collaborating with Amazon's global Transportation & Logistics leaders to proactively identify and mitigate risks in a fast-paced and intricate environment.

Your Role: We seek professionals who can leverage their expertise in operations and internal controls across various risk domains, including compliance, processes, technology, legal matters, finance, and program management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with transportation teams and other stakeholders to evaluate regulatory and compliance risks associated with our third-party carriers.
  • Assess both new and existing third-party carriers to ensure adherence to compliance, safety, and service standards, while investigating any suspicious activities that may pose risks to Amazon and its customers.
  • Lead comprehensive assessments of risks and controls to align with corporate strategy and risk tolerance, making informed decisions regarding third-party carrier integrity and compliance standards.
  • Support the integration of policies, standard operating procedures, internal controls, monitoring, and reporting to enhance operations, compliance frameworks, and risk management strategies.
  • Work alongside project teams to develop business requirements and controls as part of implementation plans.
  • Drive initiatives aimed at process enhancement and control implementation.
  • Be prepared to travel up to 20% of the time with minimal notice.
  • Language Requirement: Proficiency in German is essential, and all applications must be submitted in English.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in Audit, Risk, and/or Compliance, ideally within the operations, transportation, or logistics sectors.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both German and English.
  • Ability to analyze data from diverse sources to identify potential risk indicators and collaborate with internal stakeholders for root cause analysis, with advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience in risk mitigation, fraud prevention, compliance functions, internal controls, legal matters, HR compliance, labor relations, transportation, or supply chain management.
  • Proven track record in project management, case management, or process improvement initiatives.
  • Possession of relevant certifications such as CIA, CFE, CISA, CPA, or similar credentials in risk, audit, or compliance.
