onsemi is seeking an experienced Applications Manager who is passionate about building strong teams, winning in the marketplace, and is eager to join the Automotive Power Discrete BU as an Applications Manager. The successful candidate will lead and grow a dynamic team that evaluates the latest Silicon Carbide (SiC) technologies, validates, and introduces the latest SiC products for Automotive Onboard Charger and DCDC converters to the market. This highly visible role will occasionally require travel (< 10%) to support customers worldwide and will provide an opportunity to influence the roadmap.
Key Goals/Objectives/Activities:
Lead the evaluation and validation of cutting-edge SiC devices for automotive power converters. Lead the design and testing of evaluation boards, and author application notes and datasheets. Work closely with technical marketing to create marketing collateral and attend tradeshows. Collaborate with customers across the world on cutting-edge power semiconductor problems and build long-lasting relationships.The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:
Manage, mentor, and grow a team of applications engineers focused on the development of SiC products. Work closely with marketing and key customers to define product roadmaps. Be responsible for defining and delivering application collateral such as datasheets, application notes, simulation modules, and evaluation boards. Define and lead the evaluation and validation of cutting-edge SiC devices for automotive OBC and DCDC. Work in a well-equipped, cutting-edge high-power lab.The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the design and testing of automotive power systems. Excellent communication skills and knowledge of BEV/HEV power components like OBC, DC/DC, BMS, compressor drives, etc. This includes, various circuit topologies, power modules, thermal solutions, gate drive electronics and EMC issues.
Other requirements include:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with 8-10 years of work experience or Master of Science with 7-10 years of work experience. A in power electronics is a plus. Strong understanding of Power Supplies - DC/DC, AC/DC is a must. Strong understanding of WBG devices (SiC, GaN as well as IGBT and SuperJunction) and trade-offs is a must. Strong knowledge of SPICE simulators, Simetrix, PSIM or equivalent. Fluent English language knowledge. German language knowledge is an advantage.-
