We are looking for a CTO (M/F/d) for one of our portfolio companies in Berlin. As this is a stealth hire, we prefer to keep the details confidential until the first interview.
Tasks
As CTO, you will hold overall technological responsibility for our platform and products. You will define and drive the technology vision while leading the engineering team, focusing on scalability, security, and innovation. You’ll integrate modern technologies and data-driven approaches to foster an inspiring developer culture.
Working closely with Product, Operations, and Business Development, you will help drive growth, operational excellence, and differentiation in the energy market.
- Technological leadership & vision: Development and implementation of a future-proof technology strategy, including AI readiness and innovation paths
- Team building & leadership: Leading an interdisciplinary tech team with a focus on motivation, flow and responsibility
- Architecture & scaling: Further development of a modular SaaS platform with microservices, APIs, cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS)
- AI & Data-driven Innovation: Identification and implementation of data-based use cases - e.g. forecasting, optimization, automation
- Product and user focus: Co-design of digital energy products with outstanding UX and real-time components
- Security & Compliance: Ensuring IT security, data protection (GDPR) and compliance with energy industry requirements
- Stakeholder management: Collaboration with internal and external partners - from product to operations to network operators

**Requirements**:

- Several years of experience in a senior tech role, ideally as CTO or VP Engineering in a SaaS or energy environment
- Experience in building and leading high-performing development teams with a modern, inspiring culture (flow, vibe, ownership)
- Experience in leading external development teams
- Deep understanding of microservice architectures, APIs, cloud-native development (e.g., AWS, Kubernetes)
- Affinity for data-driven approaches and initial experience in the use of AI / Machine Learning in a productive context
- Structured, strategic way of working and the ability to combine technical excellence with product proximity and business goals
- Fluent in German and English
