Then you have come to the right place We are currently looking for a student assistant (M/F/d) in the digital public sphere program on platform regulation and online advertising (12 hours/week) to support our team from October 2024.

The topic area:

- Online platforms such as social media, video apps and search engines have faced new rules under the EU’s “Digital Services Act”. These rules cover, among other things, reporting channels for users, risk assessments and access to data for researchers. This reflects the development of public debates and political opinion formation processes taking place in online spaces, but also the fact that there are risks associated with online platforms, especially for marginalized groups. How the new EU rules can be enforced in the short term, what improvements are necessary in the medium term and how they can contribute to a stronger digital public sphere in the long term is the focus of interface’s program on strengthening the digital public sphere and platform regulation. We are also looking at how other topics and laws from digital and consumer protection policy are related to platform regulation. This concerns, for example, the online advertising market and the Digital Markets Act and the Artificial Intelligence Act, respectively.

**Working field**:
Your tasks:
You will support our research and monitoring on digital and platform regulation at the German, European and transatlantic levels and on related topics such as the online advertising industry

You will help with the preparation and follow-up of workshops, interviews and public events.

You support us in the creation of policy papers and other publications
- You take part in meetings, help shape the project and contribute your own ideas

**Requirements**:
Your profile:
You are currently enrolled at a university or university of applied sciences (remote work possible)

You live and work in Germany

You follow current tech policy developments closely and/or have a keen interest in technology and politics

You are highly committed and a team player, yet work independently and with diligence and foresight

You can think in a structured way

You have experience in research and event management, e.g., via internships

You are open to working in a remote team
