Quantum Researcher

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to join our team at the University of Siegen. As a researcher, you will be responsible for developing multi-core quantum computers in the EU project "QUADRATURE".
Key Responsibilities:- Design and development of resonant waveguides with ultrahigh-Q in the microwave and terahertz frequency range for coherent quantum transfer between multi-core quantum computer architectures.
- Cryogenic antenna development based on modern 2D materials, like graphene.
- Design, electromagnetic modeling, and optimization of resonant waveguides and cryogenic antennas for coherent data transfer between quantum computer cores.
- Technological manufacturing in the clean room.
- Development of suitable microwave and terahertz measurement setups including cryogenic cooling and measurement analysis of the developed waveguides and antennas in the microwave and terahertz regime, respectively.
- Preparation of scientific publications and reports on results as well as presentations at scientific conferences.
- Support in research and teaching, supervision and examination of students and assistance with administrative tasks.
- Master's or equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
- Independent research interest and professional competence in the field of antenna design, optoelectronics, ultra-high frequency technology, or terahertz technology.
- Experience in the construction of experimental setups is an advantage.
- Willingness to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, very good communication skills.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Knowledge of German is beneficial, but not mandatory.
