Quantum Computing Researcher

We are seeking a highly skilled researcher to join our team at the Chair of Quantum Optics. As a key member of our faculty, you will contribute to the development of groundbreaking methods for controlling trapped ions using high-frequency radiation.
Key Responsibilities- Design, simulate, and construct innovative experimental apparatus for quantum computers with trapped ions.
- Prepare and conduct experiments with trapped ions, analyze data, and publish scientific results.
- Collaborate with national and international research partners and third-party funding agencies.
- Completed university studies in physics (diploma, Master of Science) with a grade equal to or better than "good" (German grading scheme).
- Sound knowledge of quantum mechanics.
- High level of interest in the task at hand, exceptional commitment, and initiative.
- Willingness to work in an interdisciplinary team from the fields of physics, computer science, mathematics, and electrical engineering.
- Very good knowledge of English.
- Promotion of own scientific or artistic qualification according to the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (e.g. PhD).
