About the Position:
At the forefront of Quantum Optics research, we are pioneering innovative techniques to manipulate stored ions using high-frequency radiation, serving as fundamental switching units (Qubits) in quantum computing. Our ongoing research aims to establish a robust framework for scalable quantum computing technologies.
We are currently seeking a Scientific Employee within the Faculty IV - Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology, Department of Physics, Experimental Quantum Optics, under the following terms:
- Workload: 29.87 hours per week
- Salary Scale: Paygrade 13 TV-L
- Contract Duration: Fixed-term for 3 years
Your research will concentrate on innovative methodologies and strategies for quantum computing utilizing stored ions. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, simulating, and constructing advanced experimental setups
- Executing and interpreting experiments involving stored ions and disseminating scientific findings
- Collaborating with both national and international research entities and funding organizations
- Degree in Physics (Diploma, Master of Science) with a minimum grade of 'good'
- Comprehensive understanding of quantum mechanics
- Strong enthusiasm for the project, coupled with remarkable commitment and initiative
- Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team encompassing Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Electrical Engineering
- Proficient in English
- Experience in Experimental Quantum Optics, Quantum Information Processing, Laser Spectroscopy, Microwave Technology, and related fields is advantageous
