We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Gene Editing Team Lead to join our team in Cologne. In this role, you will lead a team of Research Assistants, guiding their growth and development while contributing to the advancement of Lonza's transfection products.
Role PurposeThis exciting opportunity allows you to contribute to the development of innovative cell engineering products for bioresearch, pharmaceutical discovery, and the bioprocessing market.
Key Responsibilities- Manage or participate in developing novel cell engineering products and applications.
- Supervise Research Associates, providing performance reviews, development plans, and constructive feedback.
- Design and execute experiments related to gene editing techniques such as CRISPR/Cas and transposition-based methods in primary cells and cell lines.
- Independently plan and implement scientific approaches closely connected to cell and gene therapy applications.
- Present project progress and outcomes at group and department meetings. Deliver professional presentations at national and international scientific conferences.
- Continuously expand your skill set and knowledge by staying updated on the latest literature, interacting with scientists and industry experts, and attending scientific conferences.
- PhD level education in a relevant biological field or equivalent experience.
- Profound knowledge and expertise in designing and applying gene editing methods. Advanced specialization in CRISPR and related cell and gene therapy applications.
- A strong customer-focused philosophy, understanding the needs of both internal and external stakeholders.
- Broad expertise and knowledge in molecular biology, cell biology, and cell-based analysis methods.
- Previous team management experience or experience in developing team members is desirable.
- Business fluency in English and German, both written and spoken.
