Gene Editing Research Team Leader

Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic Team Leader at our Cologne facility to spearhead the advancement of our gene editing product line. In this pivotal role, you will mentor and lead a team of Research Assistants, guiding their professional growth while driving the development of cutting-edge transfection technologies.
Candidates should possess a strong foundation in gene editing techniques, alongside comprehensive knowledge in molecular biology, cell biology, and cell-based analytical methods. While prior management experience is advantageous, it is not a strict requirement. This position may involve occasional travel for conferences and client engagements.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the creation and enhancement of innovative cell engineering products and applications for bioresearch, pharmaceutical discovery, and bioprocessing sectors. Supervise and evaluate Research Associates, establish performance metrics, and facilitate personal development plans with constructive feedback. Design and implement current cell engineering projects utilizing primary cells and cell lines (e.g., CRISPR/Cas or transposition-based gene editing), including experiment design, execution, data analysis, and preparation. Independently plan and execute scientific methodologies closely related to cell and gene therapy applications. Present project updates and results at departmental meetings and deliver professional presentations at national and international scientific gatherings. Continuously enhance your expertise by engaging with current literature, collaborating with fellow scientists, and attending relevant scientific conferences.Essential Qualifications:
PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant biological discipline. Extensive knowledge and practical experience in designing and implementing gene editing techniques, particularly CRISPR and related cell and gene therapy applications. A strong commitment to customer satisfaction, understanding the needs of both internal and external stakeholders. Broad expertise in molecular biology, cell biology, and cell-based analysis methodologies. Previous experience in team management or mentoring is preferred.
