Job Title: Lead Automation Specialist

We are looking for a Lead Automation Specialist to become a vital part of our team. This role involves diagnosing issues, resolving errors, and enhancing control systems for automated material handling technologies, including conveyors, sorting systems, scanners, and cameras. The Lead Automation Specialist will also be responsible for mentoring Engineering Technicians on troubleshooting techniques and preventive maintenance strategies.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on all control systems and sensors within the facility.
  • Collaborate with the EU Controls network to improve monitoring of material handling equipment metrics.
  • Engage in or lead initiatives aimed at the continuous enhancement of the EU Controls network.
  • Ensure thorough documentation and upkeep of all systems in partnership with IT and Engineering teams.
  • Assist global teams with the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Provide support to other locations within the European network as required.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience with PLC-based automation in a continuous processing setting.
  • A Bachelor's degree in progress or completed in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting various conveyor or sorting systems.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure in high-stress environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Educational background in Information Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and machine directives.
  • Experience in multi-site operations and project management.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and process improvement methodologies.
