Job Title: Lead Automation Solutions Engineer

We are looking for a Lead Automation Solutions Engineer to enhance our operations. This role will focus on diagnosing issues, resolving errors, and optimizing control systems for automated material handling technologies, including conveyors, sorting mechanisms, scanners, and cameras. The Lead Engineer will also be responsible for mentoring Engineering Technicians in device troubleshooting and maintenance strategies.
Main Responsibilities:
- Serve as a specialist on all control systems and sensors within the facility.
- Work closely with the EU Controls network to improve monitoring of material handling equipment metrics.
- Engage in or lead initiatives aimed at the continuous enhancement of the EU Controls network.
- Ensure thorough documentation and upkeep of all systems in partnership with IT and Engineering departments.
- Collaborate with global teams on the installation and commissioning of new machinery.
- Provide support to other locations within the European network as required.
Requirements:
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience with PLC-based automation in a continuous processing setting.
- A Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering, either in progress or completed.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting various conveyor or sorting systems.
- Capability to perform under pressure in high-stress environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Educational background in Information Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and machine directives.
- Experience in multi-site operations and project management.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma and process improvement methodologies.
