About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Scientific Applications Specialist to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in supporting our sales team and channel partners in the DACH region and the rest of Europe.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent the Company: Represent our company in a positive and professional manner when interacting with customers, both internal and external.
  • Product Presentations and Demonstrations: Conduct product presentations and test measurements, and develop solutions for non-standard applications in FTIR, Raman, and NIR.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Report monthly opportunities and trends using scorecards and other analytical tools.
  • Customer Support: Provide excellent customer support to the sales organization, helping to drive continuous growth in sales figures.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the EMEA applications team to share standard methodologies and best practices.
Requirements
  • Education: A university degree in a science-related field, preferably in chemistry.
  • Experience: Working experience in application support in an industrial B2B environment is highly desired. Alternatively, experience in the chemical or pharmaceutical industry or laboratory equipment business is also acceptable. Additional experience in business development is an asset.
  • Knowledge and Skills: In-depth knowledge of molecular spectroscopy and related applications. Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral, in German and preferably a second language. Ability to work efficiently with customers and colleagues in difficult and stressful situations. Customer-centric, intercultural competence, and a professional demeanor. Eagerness to travel (approximately 25-50%). Valid driver's license.
