HSE Manager

Driving innovation through safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and implement global standards for chemical safety within the framework of HSE.
- Continuously assess legal obligations and provide actionable insights in collaboration with existing working groups across the Freudenberg Group.
- Offer expert guidance to business units and facilities regarding chemical safety and the compliant management of hazardous substances in both laboratory and production environments.
- Conduct comprehensive audits at various locations, both domestically and internationally.
- Design, develop, and facilitate training programs focused on chemical safety and associated subjects.
- Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, on matters related to chemical safety.
- Provide support to HSE teams on cross-functional initiatives as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- A university degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related natural science field with a chemical emphasis.
- A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in the field.
- Comprehensive understanding of applicable legal and technical standards concerning occupational safety, chemical safety, and regulatory compliance (including REACH).
- Preferably, certification as an occupational safety specialist (FASI).
- Training as an internal auditor for environmental and occupational health management systems is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time.
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills, along with entrepreneurial thinking and a sense of responsibility in a corporate context.
- Proficiency in German and a good command of English are essential.
- Additional qualifications in radiation, laser, and noise protection, as well as hazardous materials handling, are beneficial.
