Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and implement organization-wide standards for chemical safety within the HSE framework.
- Oversee compliance with legal obligations and provide actionable insights in collaboration with existing working groups across the Freudenberg Group.
- Offer guidance to business units and locations regarding chemical safety and the lawful management of hazardous substances in laboratories and production settings.
- Conduct audits at various group locations, both domestically and internationally.
- Design, organize, and facilitate training sessions focused on chemical safety and associated subjects.
- Collaborate closely with both internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, on matters related to chemical safety.
- Provide support to HSE teams with cross-functional tasks as required.
Required Qualifications:
- A university degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related natural science field with a chemical emphasis.
- A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of applicable legal and technical standards concerning occupational safety, chemical safety, and marketing regulations (including REACH).
- Preferably, certification as an occupational safety specialist (FASI).
- Training as an internal auditor for environmental and occupational health management systems is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time.
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills, along with entrepreneurial thinking, a sense of responsibility, and an understanding of corporate environments.
- Proficient in German and possess very good English language skills.
- Additional qualifications in radiation, laser, noise protection, and hazardous materials handling are a plus.
