Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and implement comprehensive standards for chemical safety across the organization.
- Oversee compliance with legal obligations and provide actionable insights in collaboration with existing working groups within the Freudenberg Group.
- Offer guidance to business units and facilities regarding all aspects of chemical safety and the lawful management of hazardous substances in laboratories and production environments.
- Conduct audits at various locations, both domestically and internationally.
- Design, organize, and facilitate training sessions focused on chemical safety and related subjects.
- Collaborate closely with both internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, on matters pertaining to chemical safety.
- Provide support to HSE teams with cross-functional tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- A university degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related natural science field with a focus on chemistry.
- A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience.
- Extensive knowledge of applicable legal and technical regulations concerning occupational safety, chemical safety, and product compliance (including REACH).
- Ideally, certification as an occupational safety specialist (FASI) is preferred.
- Training as an internal auditor for environmental and occupational health management systems is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time.
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills, coupled with entrepreneurial thinking and a sense of responsibility within a corporate framework.
- Proficiency in German and a good command of English are essential.
- Additional qualifications in radiation, laser, and noise protection, as well as hazardous materials handling, are a plus.
