HSE Manager

Driving innovation through safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and implement comprehensive standards for chemical safety across the organization.
  • Assess legal obligations and formulate actionable recommendations in collaboration with various working groups within the Freudenberg Group.
  • Provide expert guidance to business units and facilities regarding chemical safety and the lawful management of hazardous substances in both laboratory and production environments.
  • Conduct thorough audits at national and international locations within the group.
  • Design, organize, and deliver training sessions focused on chemical safety and related areas.
  • Collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, on matters pertaining to chemical safety.
  • Support the HSE department teams with cross-functional tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • A university degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related natural science field with a focus on chemistry.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in the field.
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable legal and technical standards in occupational safety, chemical safety, and marketing regulations (including REACH).
  • Preferably, certification as an occupational safety specialist (FASI).
  • Training as an internal auditor for environmental and occupational health management systems is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time.
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills, along with a proactive mindset, sense of responsibility, and an understanding of corporate dynamics.
  • Proficient in German and possess very good English language skills.
  • Additional qualifications in radiation, laser, and noise protection, as well as hazardous materials, are advantageous.
