Climate Risk Analyst – Enterprise Risk Management

Overview of the Division:

The Risk division is responsible for identifying, monitoring, assessing, and managing both financial and non-financial risks in alignment with the firm's strategic objectives and risk appetite. This division plays a vital role in ensuring effective risk management practices, addressing both anticipated and unforeseen events that could negatively affect the firm. Risk professionals are engaged in essential daily risk management tasks, operating within a dynamic and fast-paced environment while utilizing advanced risk management tools and frameworks. The teams within this division are characterized by their analytical curiosity, commitment to excellence, and readiness to tackle challenges. Effective collaboration with executive management, business units, control departments, and technology teams is crucial for achieving success.

The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) department oversees a variety of risk management capabilities to provide comprehensive insights into the firm's overall risk profile, encompassing both financial and non-financial aspects. This facilitates informed strategic planning and decision-making regarding risk. ERM is tasked with evaluating and planning for new business initiatives, managing emerging risks, and governing the division's frameworks and processes, including regional and legal entity governance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the daily operations and strategic initiatives of the Climate Risk program.
  • Prepare regulatory documentation for ongoing supervision, examinations, and other compliance requirements.
  • Stay informed about the evolving regulatory landscape, providing analysis and guidance to enhance the Climate program.
  • Support the integration of climate and environmental considerations into first and second lines of defense processes.
  • Contribute to the development of the Risk Appetite Statement framework, including the calibration of limits and monitoring of utilization reports.
  • Collaborate with quantitative teams to leverage climate risk models and scenario analysis for portfolio risk assessments.
  • Manage internal risk frameworks and processes, including risk identification efforts.
  • Assist in the preparation of materials for Risk Committee and Board Risk Committee meetings, regulatory submissions, and external disclosures.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across various departments, including Sustainable Finance, Controllers, and Regulatory Affairs.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 1-3 years of experience in the Financial Services or Banking sector, or relevant experience in ESG and sustainability.
  • Interest or background in sustainability and climate-related risks, along with knowledge of the European and Global regulatory landscape concerning climate and environmental issues.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective organizational skills and the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is essential.
